CARTER REED BY TIJAN

CARTER REED BY TIJAN
Ayyy another Tijan mafia book read! After reading Cole I was really interested in seeing how Emma and Carter happened and reading about their story. From the get go, I loved Emma - it's so refreshing seeing a heroine shooting someone and then not having a complete meltdown. Instead, she doesn't regret it because she needed to do it to survive I found that so intriguing and it made me LOVE Emma and her character.

Albeit, the reason this isn't five stars is because in some cases Emma did annoy me, I feel she tried to stick her nose in places sometimes when it was better and safer to leave it to Carter to sort it. Also, I didn't like Carter's third person perspective - it felt quite jolty to switch from Emma's 1st to his 3rd and I would've loved to hear Carter's actual thoughts using I. Other than that I loved it.

Carter wasn't really a softie (apart from with Emma) - he was strong, calm, calculated and every bit the mafia man he is and I loved how powerful and badass he is. Emma and Carter as a relationship are so cute and I love how they have a deep-rooted history it was so sweet. I loved Theresa and Nick as supporting characters, they were so cute together and I loved Amanda too. Their friendship group is already goal, love them.

I'm nervous to see where the second book leads, I hope it doesn't drag on - it feels like an unnecessary sequel but I'm hoping I love it and then can dive into the last Tijan mafia book (Bennett Mafia.)
