  ★★★★★ HOUSE OF BANE AND BLOOD BY ALEXIS L. MENARD Arc in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Second Sky and Netgalley for the arc. This was exactly what I needed. 1920s era with magic. Think Peaky Blinders meets Shadow Bone/Six of Crows with one of the best tropes - a marriage of convenience. There's mafia, magic and a steampunk world all set in the 1920s. It felt like something I hadn't read before. I absolutely adored the characters in this, the different families and their rivalries. What stood out to me was that the two main characters, Camilla and Nico, were so fleshed out. They had a backstory, they had depth, and the chemistry between them... I ATE IT UP. Think knife to your throat romance. There was so much banter between them, which I always love. The plot kept me very gripped, and immediately after finishing it, I needed to pick up the next book! Loved, loved this and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a fresh fantasy with something differe...
